On the Healing of Souls and Bodies and the Preaching of the Truth

Many times we witnessed Jesus instantly cure incurable diseases.

But it sometimes surprised us that He did not heal everyone…

Once, there were two people with similar problems among those being healed. Both were on crutches and could hardly walk because of serious problems with their legs.

One of them was instantly cured by Jesus — and the happy man went and praised Jesus.

Jesus had a long talk with the other lame man, but complete healing did not take place.

And this man, leaving Jesus, with anger and curses told everyone that Jesus could not cure his illness, that everything that was happening around him was only a performance by people familiar to Jesus.

The man shouted angrily: “Wake up, people! There were no blind people here who had received their sight! They pretended to be blind by closing their eyes, they only pretended to find their way with a stick… They did it all to glorify this charlatan! And those who didn't walk and suddenly could walk — all these people are faking it! They all have been bought with money by this Jesus and his disciples! Look, I was lame, and I am still lame. Don't believe it, this Jesus is a liar!"

This man was outraged for a long time… And we realized that he would continue to slander in the future. He would always speak badly about the Master… And Jesus Himself did not try to change this, even though He always had the Great Power of the Father at His disposal to cure any disease, to control people's thoughts and emotions.

That time, Jesus only spoke a few words to us:

“Yes, there is Power to cure…, but there is no Will of the Heavenly Father. This man must still learn the lessons of wisdom and kindness… After all, this disease is one of the signs of fate that the soul itself is sick and badly needs healing. And without spiritual efforts on the part of man the Divine miracle of healing does not take place.

Soon after this incident, we dared to ask Jesus why we still have so few followers, why He does not show His Great Power to people so that all may believe in Him at once. Why He allows Himself to be slandered and hated.

We were sitting around a small fire in the evening and no strangers were around.

My brother Simon began to ask questions, and we all listened to the Master's words.

Simon said:

“Tell me, Jesus, how much do people need what we are giving them now? Why are there so few who understand and accept us?”

Jesus looked around at all of us:

“Why do you doubt, you who walk with Me?”

Simon went on to talk about what was so confusing to our minds:

“It is not doubt, Jesus, it is another thing… So few of those who listen to You have truly believed… And those who have realized that mere faith is not enough, that they need to make efforts to transform themselves as souls — they are very few. And those who will continue to live as You teach, will there be many of them in years to come?”

Jesus looked carefully for a long time into the distance, into a future that was only revealed to Him, and then He answered:

“All this multitude of people, who listen to Me, but do not hear Me now, — they will hear it later, from those who now understand and aspire with their souls to the Creator! And those who find Unity with the Heavenly Father — they will help the others!

“Do not worry, neither now nor afterward, that the result of your deeds is hardly visible to you. Your labor is a gift to God! Do not seek reward for what you have done for God!

“And right now the time is not for reaping, but for sowing the seeds of Love and Truth. And the harvest… — it will multiply year after year, century after century… And this result belongs to the Heavenly Father, not to us…

“Live only for God, and then He takes full responsibility for the whole series of events in your lives, and even the time to leave the body will be appointed by Him for each of you. And even the way you will accept death in order to be in His Abode — all this will be managed by God, when you dedicate all your thoughts and deeds and all the love of your soul to Him!

“Remember My words, because all the people whom you will help in the future will need to understand this! Both those people who are already wisely building their lives with God, and those who are just awakening to begin the path of love in their destinies!

“You are now looking with condemnation at people who do not listen to Me or even reject the Teachings that I have brought to the Earth. But My Father and I love them too, and this gives us hope that they too will open to the Love of God, even if it is not soon.

“This is the way everything is designed and arranged in the Divine Laws of the Universe.

“And there will be a time when the Great Love in the lost souls will be able to melt the barriers of vices and call them to purification, and will awaken their reciprocal love for the Heavenly Father! This will be their chance to realize the Divine and to change and transform themselves for God. But this is only a chance, an opportunity, which a person will decide to accept or not to accept. And this is the freedom of will, the freedom of choice of the soul…

“When you yourselves look also, as I do now, from the Depths of the Abode of the Father, you will know how significant is even the small progress towards God of every soul!

“I look at souls from the Love of the Universal Heavenly Father and know everything about each soul: both the past and the future that is possible…

“My love does not run out and is flowing to all. And there is only regret for those people who, by their mistakes, persistently bring misfortune and suffering upon themselves, thus unreasonably prolonging and complicating their spiritual paths.

“I see for everyone the happiness that the soul can find in the Embrace of the Father. And if the soul is deaf, blind, and crippled by vices and delusions, and moves away from the Light and seeks darkness, then I treat such people as sick suffering people, and not as enemies…

“The Heavenly Father's love heals! But it heals the soul first, not the body. And the body must sometimes undergo sufferings in order to be cleansed from the filth of sins and vices, to understand many things.

“You have seen it happen many times! Sometimes those who hated Me yesterday become My disciples today.

“See how you now sympathize with those unfortunate people who wish to be freed from disease and other afflictions! But you do not see how they rejected God and how they sinned before. But it must be remembered that they have suffered in their lives by violating God's precepts and neglecting His Love at a time when they had the opportunity to open themselves to giving Him and all other creatures care and love.

“… Now you have received the answer to your unasked aloud question about why I heal some people and do not heal others…

“For the one who has already drunk the whole cup of suffering, repented and realized his mistakes and atoned for his guilt — a favorable moment comes and it is possible to pour out all the Grace of the Heavenly Father and fully restore the body.

“For others, that cup of deserved suffering is still full. And as long as they have not drained the cup, I can only ease their way of recovery, the way through faith and love. And their burden will be lighter, and their destiny will lead them to happiness faster, and the streak of misfortunes in their lives will end sooner, but not right now.”

… We listened and marveled at the Wisdom of Jesus… But we had to go through many trials to learn to love as wisely, and to see as deeply.
